<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display panel having improved display characteristics in which a horizontal electric field system is used, and a display device including the display panel. <P>SOLUTION: A display panel comprises a first substrate including a plurality of pixels, a second substrate that faces the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. Each of the pixels includes a data line, a gate line intersecting with the data line in a manner that the gate line is insulated from the data line, a first signal line separated from the gate line and intersecting with the data line in a manner that the first signal line is insulated from the data line, a second signal line separated from the gate line and the first signal line and intersecting with the data line in a manner that the second signal line is insulated from the data line, a switching element connected to the data line and the gate line, a first pixel electrode connected to the switching element, and a second pixel electrode connected to one of the first signal line and the second signal line.
