<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulosic nonwoven fabric that is excellent in mechanical properties, stiffness under high temperature, and a water absorbing property. <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing a cellulosic nonwoven fabric comprises: forming a web of fibers obtained by melt spinning a resin composition including a thermoplastic cellulose ester as a main component; bonding the web thermally by heat embossing rolls to obtain a sheet-like material; and subjecting the obtained sheet-like material to an alkali saponification. The fibers are fixed and integrated with each other without interposing a binder. The cellulosic nonwoven fabric has a tensile strength in the longitudinal direction of 1.0 (N/5 cm)/(g/m2) or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
