<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toilet device capable of reliably detecting both a user sitting on a toilet seat and a user standing without being influenced by the constitution of the user even if the toilet device is mounted relatively high on a wall. <P>SOLUTION: A sound effect generating device 10 as the toilet device is configured to separately send light signals to a first sensing area SA1 and a second sensing area SA2 in such a way that the light signals are sent obliquely downwardly in at least two different lateral directions, and determines the existence or non-existence of the user H sitting on the toilet seat WS as well as the existence or non-existence of the user H not sitting on the toilet seat WS based on a first reflected signal from the first sensing area SA1 and a second reflected signal from the second sensing area SA2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
