<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing colored resin particles whose coagulation is controlled even in the presence of kinds of particles different in charging polarities. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing colored resin particles for electrophoresis is characterized by comprising a process for polymerizing a polymerizable composition comprising 1 to 30 wt.% of a pigment, 50 to 98.9 wt.% of a (meth)acrylic polymerizable monomer and 0.1 to 20 wt.% of a nitrogen-containing group-having compound in the presence of an acid-soluble, water-insoluble inorganic dispersant in an aqueous solvent to obtain colored resin particles, a process for adding an acid to the aqueous solution after the suspension polymerization to adjust the pH of the aqueous solvent to ≤3, a process for separating the colored resin particles from the aqueous solvent adjusted to pH of ≤3 and washing the colored resin particles, a process for holding the washed colored resin particles in an alkali aqueous solution containing the aqueous organic solvent under a condition of 0 to 80°C, and a process for separating the colored resin particles from the alkali aqueous solution and washing the colored resin particles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
