摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycondensation catalyst for the manufacture of a polyester that gives a polyester of high quality, which has a high molecular weight, has remarkably improved hues and hardly suffers from discoloration caused by thermal deterioration when melt-molded, with high polymerization activities while suppressing decomposition of the polyester in the manufacture of the polyester, a manufacturing method for a polyester by using the polycondensation catalyst, and a polyester obtained by the manufacturing method, and to provide a polyester obtained by using the polycondensation catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The polycondensation catalyst for the manufacture of a polyester by an esterification reaction or a transesterification reaction between a dicarboxylic acid or an ester-forming derivative thereof and a glycol is obtained by hydrolyzing a water-soluble titanium compound in the absence of a water-soluble alkali in a water slurry containing solid base particles dispersed therein to form a coating layer composed of 0.1-50 pts.wt., in terms of TiO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, based on 100 pts.wt. of the solid base, of titanic acid on the surface of the solid base particle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
