<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pre-scaling method for improving degradation in performance at the time of fixed-point calculation with an MIMO MMSE decoder. <P>SOLUTION: A pre-scaling is applied to the input of an MIMO decoder to suppress the degradation caused by fixed-point calculation to minimum, with no remaining portion of the decoder being changed.
