The seat (3) has a backrest (8) fixed to a support (10) by a connecting plate (18) that is swingably mounted at the support around a first pivotal axle (21) and at the backrest around a second pivotal axle (22), so that a base plate (7) is swingably mounted to the support around a third pivotal axle (23) and to the backrest around a fourth pivotal axle (24). The pivotal axes define a parallelogram that is deformable to raise the backrest with respect to the support to fold the base plate against the backrest, if the plate is tilted to move the seat from a use position to a folded position. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle comprising a forward part.
