The device (1) has a housing (10) provided with an inlet opening (20) and an exhaust opening (30). A housing cover (40) is provided at the housing. The housing cover is movably arranged at the housing and formed such that the exhaust opening is closed to degree by the housing cover. The housing cover is moved by a motor (50). The housing cover is designed as a flap and arranged along the exhaust opening. A drivable conveyor is provided in the housing. Conveying direction of the conveyor is aligned to movement of the housing cover in an axially parallel manner. An independent claim is also included for a method for filling a burner by a fuel delivery device.
