PURPOSE: A three-color light emitting diode traffic signal of an intersection and an operation method of the same are provided to reduce installation and maintenance costs by reducing the number of colors of the traffic signal from a four-color traffic signal to the three-color traffic signal. CONSTITUTION: A red stop lamp(20) is turned on and other lamps of a traffic signal is turned off when the traffic signal indicates a stop signal. The stop lamp is turned off and a straight arrow lamp(40) and a left-turn lamp(30) are turned on when the traffic signal indicates a straight signal and a left-turn signal at the same time. The traffic signal maintains the straight signal. A prediction lamp of the left-turn lamp is flickered for five seconds. A main traffic signal and a prediction traffic signal are turned off at the same time. A left-turn stop lamp(300) is turned on. |
