PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound which serves as a photoelectric conversion element when applied to the photoelectric conversion element, exhibits high photoelectric conversion efficiency, low dark current, and rapid response, and does not decompose during vapor deposition.

SOLUTION: This invention relates to a compound with a specific structure having an absorption maximum in the range of 400 nm or more and less than 720 nm in the UV-Vis absorption spectra, the molar absorption coefficient of the absorption maximum wavelength being 10,000 mol-1/cm-1or more, and the difference of the difference between the melting point and the deposition temperature ((melting point)-(deposition temperature)) is 31°C or more.
