<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a driving method that integrates area scanning drive and reset drive. <P>SOLUTION: One horizontal scan period is composed of a first period H1 in which a positive polarity signal is supplied to a data line and a second period H2 in which a negative polarity signal is supplied to the data line.
