<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assign a virtual disk volume whose size is designated by a computer administrator to a virtual machine and access to the virtual disk volume from the virtual machine without mediation of a hypervisor. <P>SOLUTION: In a computer system having a computer, at least one virtual machine run on the computer and a volume where the virtual machine stores data, a virtualization mechanism comprises a virtual volume assignment part and a virtual volume information providing part and a virtual machine comprises a virtual volume driver transforming location information of a virtual volume. The virtualization mechanism stores the virtual volume information along with definition information of the virtual machine to which the virtual volume has been assigned. An adaptor connecting the virtual machine and an external device controls an access request to the virtual volume. When canceling the assignment of the virtual volume from the virtual machine, the virtual volume information stored along with the definition information of the virtual machine is deleted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
