PURPOSE: A back side electrode type solar battery and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve photoelectric transformation efficiency by forming a passivation layer having big band gap energy on a light-receiving surface in which sunlight is entered. CONSTITUTION: A crystal type silicon substrate(110) of a first conductivity type is prepared. A reflection barrier layer(130) is formed on the passivation layer. A first electrode(150) is formed on the other side of the silicon substrate. A second electrode(160) which is separated from the first electrode is formed on the other side of the silicon substrate. The passivation layer comprises a-SiOx or a-SiC. The band gap energy of the passivation layer is 1.8eV to 2.25eV. A second semiconductor layer of a second conductivity type is included between the second electrode and the silicon substrate. |
