VEIN PATTERN DETECTION DEVICE, VEIN AUTHENTICATION DEVICE, AND VEIN PATTERN DETECTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a vein pattern more precisely without being affected by a device-specific noise while using reflected light.

SOLUTION: A person to be authenticated sets his or her index finger on a vein authentication device (step S201). The vein authentication device turns on a light source (step S202), and reads an image formed with its reflected light (step S203). The vein authentication device detects an outline of the index finger (step S204). Enlargement/reduction processing is carried out according to the detected outline of the index finger (step S205) to generate a characteristic reference image as a reference image which is characteristic (step S206). A finger image which is corrected with the characteristic reference image is stored in a registered image data storage area (step S207). Therefore, the vein pattern can be precisely detected and registered without being affected by the vein authentication device-specific noise while using the reflected light from the light source.
