SELECTION OR DESIGN METHOD FOR PIGMENT DERIVATIVE AND PIGMENT DERIVATIVE PRODUCED BY USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selection or design method for a pigment derivative, excellent in dispersibility or storage stability after dispersion even when a pigment composition is obtained by actually processing a pigment with the pigment derivative and the obtained pigment composition is not evaluated; to provide a production method for the pigment derivative using the selection or design method, and to provide the pigment derivative obtained by using the selection or design method.

SOLUTION: The selection or design method for a pigment derivative provides a pigment composition which is formed by processing a pigment with the pigment derivative and has excellent dispersibility. The selection or design method includes the steps of: measuring or calculating a dipole moment of the pigment derivative; and selecting the pigment derivative based on a numerical value of the measured or calculated dipole moment or designing the pigment derivative based on the numerical value of the dipole moment.
