<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skew detection method and a skew detection device capable of detecting suitably skews of a recording medium without reverse of feed direction of the recording medium as well as a printing device equipped with the same. <P>SOLUTION: The skew detection device includes a medium feed step where, by using an edge detecting means scanning recording medium in a width direction perpendicular to a feed direction to edge-detect the end of recording medium to feed the recording medium to a feed position where the front the tip location of the same is a downstream position of a predetermined distance feed direction to the edge detecting means, an edge detecting step scanning the edge detecting means, after doing the medium feeding step, to edge-detect either width direction side end of the recording medium, a scanning distance acquisition step which acquires scanning distance of the edge detecting means from a reference position to a position the edge detection is performed, and an inclination value calculation step where an inclination value of the recording medium is computed on the basis of a difference between the scanning distance and the reference scanning distance of the edge detection means in the case of a recording medium without inclination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
