<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter that can prevent black display from having a color when observed obliquely in a liquid crystal display device with a multi-gap structure including a liquid crystal layer formed on a blue coloring layer that is thinner than a liquid crystal layer formed on another coloring layer. <P>SOLUTION: A color filter 10 for a liquid crystal display device comprises a transparent substrate 1, and a red coloring layer 2R, a green coloring layer 2G, and a blue coloring layer 2B formed on the transparent substrate. The blue coloring layer is formed thicker than another coloring layer.
