<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power unit of a saddle type vehicle to which a transmission can compactly be arranged. <P>SOLUTION: The power unit of the saddle type vehicle includes the transmission TM which has a primary cone 61 and a secondary cone 62 which are reversely arranged and rotated with respect to each other on two shafts 51, 52, and a ring member 63 friction-contacting with the primary cone 61 and the secondary cone 62 and surrounding the secondary cone 62, and also transmits an output of an engine E to the secondary cone 62 from the primary cone 61 by moving the ring member 63 while varying a transmission ratio. There are arranged a first gear shaft 102 having a first intermediate gear 112 which rotates in conjunction with the rotation of the secondary cone 62, and a second gear shaft 91 having a second intermediate gear 122 which rotates in conjunction with the rotation of the first gear shaft 102, and the first gear shaft 102 and the second gear shaft 91 are dividedly arranged in upper and lower parts of a line segment L6 which connects an axial center line L2 of the secondary cone 62 and an axial center line L5 of a final output shaft 92. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
