摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform fine adjustment action for an injection pipette and an injection action for the injection pipette by the same means. <P>SOLUTION: A cell manipulator comprises: an injection pipette 34 for inserting a needle in a cell; and an XY-axis table 36 and a Z-axis table 38 for controlling a position of the injection pipette 34. A fine adjustment action mechanism 44 is incorporated in the Z-axis table 38 for supporting the injection pipette 34. And the fine adjustment action mechanism 44 comprises: a piezoelectric element 54 elongated and contracted along a longitudinal direction of the injection pipette 34 in accordance with applied voltage; and a control circuit for controlling the applied voltage to the piezoelectric element 54. The piezoelectric element 54 drives and finely adjusts the injection pipette 34 in the longitudinal direction of the injection pipette 34 in response to application of voltage for fine adjustment, and imparts pressing force for inserting the needle to the injection pipette 34 in response to application of voltage for injection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
