<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect states of carrying roller pairs by using an existing sensor without installing a new sensor. <P>SOLUTION: A link plate 50, a pair of the carrying roller pairs 35, and a rotor 67 which acts on the light sensor 68 are arranged at a second carrying passage 33. Pressing rollers 35B located in lower parts of the carrying roller pairs 35 are supported by roller holders 74. The roller holders 74 can vertically move together with the pressing rollers 35B. When the roller holders 74 vertically move, a rotor 67 is turned, and an output signal of the light sensor 68 is changed. A control part determines positions of the roller holders 74 on the basis of the change. The link plate 50 vertically expands the second carrying passage 33. When a disc tray 48 is inserted into the deepest part of the expanded second carrying passage 33, the rotor 67 is turned, and the output signal of the light sensor 68 is changed.
