PANORAMIC IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE AND PANORAMIC IMAGE DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give some visual effect to a vacant area projected in a panoramic image.

SOLUTION: A mask area extraction part 11 extracts an area which has to be masked, within a panoramic image. A mask processing part 12 generates a panoramic image obtained by masking the area which has to be masked within the panoramic image. A positioning part 20 aligns the direction of a celestial sphere image with the photographing direction of the panoramic image. A mapping processing part 14 maps the masked panoramic image and the celestial sphere image as a texture in a three-dimension panoramic space. A three-dimensional image generating part 16 generates a three-dimensional panoramic image at the time of viewing a three-dimensional panoramic space in a designated line-of-sight direction, with the photographing place of the panoramic image as a viewpoint position.
