<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both stereo sound recording and monaural sound recording with reduced wind noise. <P>SOLUTION: Microphones 201a, 201b constitute a microphone unit 115. A cover 204 having a film 203 can seal the microphone 201b. A detection switch 205 detects the mounting of the cover 204. The output of the microphone 201a is input to a selector unit 212a and a high pass filter (HPF) 213, while the output of the microphone 212b is input to a selector unit 212b and a low pass filter (LPF) 214. The cutoff frequencies of the HPF 213 and the LPF 214 are set to 1 kHz, respectively. A synthesis unit 211 adds the output of the HPF 213 to the output of the LPF 214. The selector unit 212a selects the output signal of either the microphone 201a or the synthesis unit 211 according to the output of the detection switch 205.
