<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor that has improved support rigidity of core outer segments bounded by magnet end voids formed continuously with magnet storage spaces where permanent magnets are stored. <P>SOLUTION: Permanent magnets 5 are stored in a plurality of magnet storage spaces 6. An inter-magnet void 7 formed between two core-circumferentially adjacent magnet storage spaces has a core-radially outward void outer wall surface 7a and a core-radially inward void inner wall surface 7b. An outer anchor void 91 projects core-radially outward from the void outer wall surface and communicates with the inter-magnet void, and an inner anchor void 92 extends core-radially inward from the void inner wall surface and communicates with the inter-magnet void. The outer anchor void and the inner anchor void include a wedge region having a core-circumferential width widening with separation from the void wall surface.
