<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance uniformity of an overcoat while raising a peak temperature of a heating section. <P>SOLUTION: A thermal print head includes an insulation substrate 31, heating resistors 91, 92, 93, 94, first and second return electrodes 81, 82 and a drive element 42. The heating resistors 91, 92, 93, 94 are arranged on a surface of the insulation substrate 31 with an interval. The heating resistors 91, 92, 93, 94 are arranged such that the first heating resistor 91, the second heating resistor 92, the third heating resistor 93 and the fourth heating resistor 94 are repeatedly arranged in the arrangement direction. The first return electrode 81 connects the second heating resistor 92 to the third heating resistor 93, and the second return electrode 82 connects the first heating resistor 91 to the fourth heating resistor 94. The drive element 42 causes the second heating resistor 92 and the third heating resistor 93 to generate heat when performing printing of an image and causes all of the heating resistors 91, 92, 93, 94 to generate heat when applying an overcoat. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
