Tubers of plants are maintained for 2-4 weeks at 10-35[deg] C, and contacted with maturation agent comprising ethylene (10-2000 ppm) at 18[deg] C. The tubers are matured at 18-35[deg] C, and the root growth is controlled. The tuber is stored at 18-35[deg] C for 2 weeks, and the root development and fumigation are repeated to obtain tubers with regrowth ability. The maturing process is carried out in mixture of nitrogen and ethylene. The tubers are tubers of freesia.
