A pyrolysis method of hydrocarbons is provided to maximize the heat transfer effect, to allow it to be operated at a higher temperature, to improve the olefin yield, to lower the reaction tube metal surface temperature and to reduce the deposition of coke. A pyrolysis method of hydrocarbons comprises the step of the pyrolysis of a hydrocarbon in the presence of steam in a pyrolysis device to prepare an olefin. The pyrolysis device comprises a pyrolysis reactor(10) having a radius R; and a heat exchange medium(20) which is located inside the pyrolysis reactor and has an external radius r2 and an internal radius r1. The heat exchange medium comprises silicon carbide, the external radius r2 is 0.5-0.96R, and the internal radius r1 is 2-6 mm.
