<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy to recognize the distance feeling of the display image of a surgical camera to improve the user's convenience of the surgical camera. <P>SOLUTION: The surgical camera includes: a pair of left and right imaging parts 12a and 12b having bilateral binocular parallax with respect to a subject; a display control part 14 for synthesizing the image signals from the left and right imaging parts 12a and 12b to display a stereoscopic image on a display part 13; a treatment tool detection part 15 for detecting the tip position of a treatment tool and the extension direction of the tip position of the treatment tool on the basis of the image signals from the left and right imaging parts 12a and 12b; and a stereoscopic image distance calculation part 16 for calculating the distance information from the tip position of the treatment tool detected by the treatment tool detection part 15 to the subject present in the extension direction of the tip position of the treatment tool.
