<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of reducing a deviation between a newly set motor resistance and an actual motor resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The electric power steering device includes a motor for imparting assist force to a steering system. The electric power steering device updates a motor resistance Rm as a value showing the resistance of the motor. Specifically, the electric power steering device updates the motor resistance Rm on the basis that an induced voltage EX of the motor is smaller than a first determination value GA.
