<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent shave of a pad of creepers of a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: This carrying apparatus includes: a paper feed cassette 14 having a containing recess 80 recessed from a mounting face 51A mounting a carrying medium; a rubbing pad 90 attached to the containing recess 80; and a feed roller 23 which is provided so as to be displaced up and down, and comes into contact with the rubbing pad 90 by displacement. The feed roller 23 is rotated in the state of abutting on the recording medium, thereby forwarding the carrying medium rearward. The rubbing pad 90 generates friction force with the recording media, and prevents the lowest recording medium from sliding on the mounting face 51A.
