PURPOSE: A seismic retrofitting method of a column structure is provided to effectively resist against an earthquake load having lateral frequency. CONSTITUTION: A seismic retrofitting method of a column structure is as follows. A groove is formed along the side surfaces of a column(10). Bar-shaped reinforcing members(100), made of an FRP(Fiber Reinforced Plastic) material, are installed in the groove. The height of each reinforcing member is larger than the width thereof. The reinforcing members are fixed to the groove by filling the groove with adhesive(200). A covering member(300) is installed in the groove.
