<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment solution for ink-jet recording capable of improving an optical density (OD value) of a recorded image without having increased viscosity and of lowering or preventing corrosion of a metal member making contact with the treatment solution in an ink-jet recording apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A treatment solution used for ink-jet recording includes: quaternary alkylammonium salt generated as a result of neutralizing quaternary alkylammonium hydroxide, which is represented by general formula (1), with at least one of dicarboxylic acid and tricarboxylic acid; and water. A degree of neutralization is not less than 50% and not more than 110%. In general formula (1), each of R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>to R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>is an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms. The alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms may include a substituent group, may be a straight chain group or a branched chain, and R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>to R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>may be the same or different from one another. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
