<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-sensitive recording medium which is highly sensitive and excellent in printing image quality, printing suitability and reprinting characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The heat-sensitive recording medium includes, on a support, an under layer and a heat-sensitive recording layer which contains a colorless or light-colored electron donatable leuco dye and an electron acceptable color developer where the under layer contains aldehyde starch. When the content of aldehyde starch in the under layer is 15 wt.% to 30 wt.% with respect to the whole solid component in the under layer, the heat-sensitive recording medium is, in particular, highly sensitive and has satisfactory printing image quality, printing suitability and reprinting characteristics. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
