<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock device for a bicycle, which protects the bicycle against mischief or theft and prevents deformation even for long period use so as to preserve smooth protruding and retracting of a locking bar. <P>SOLUTION: A lock device 10 for a bicycle which is arranged to a wheel of the bicycle comprises a hollow body part 12 having a C-shape with lower edges 13R and 13L facing each other to form an opening, and a locking bar 11 which is housed in the body part 12 and projects from the one lower edge 13L of the body part 12, passes between spokes of the wheel, and fits in the other lower edge 13R to block the rotation of the wheel for locking. The body part 12 has a C-shaped back plate 21 and a C-shaped cover body 31 which is joined to the back plate 21 and forms a space part 14 to house the locking bar 11. The cover body 31 is made of a material selected from aluminum, zinc, and resin. A reinforcement material 41 is attached to a surface of the cover body 31. Materials having mechanical strength higher than that of the cover body 31 are used for the back plate 21 and the reinforcement material 41, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
