Abstract An image reading device (100) includes a light source 5 (110), a light receiving unit (140), a generation unit (142), a white reference member (124), a color reference member (126), and a processing unit (150). The light source (110) emits light to a recording medium on which an image is formed. The light receiving unit (140) receives light 10 reflected by the recording medium. The generation unit (142) generates a light intensity value from the light received by the light receiving unit (140). The white reference member (124) is used for color calibration for a white balance. The color reference member (126) is used for 15 color calibration to calibrate a predetermined color. The processing unit (150) derives a correlation formula representing variation in characteristics of the white reference member (124), based on a light intensity value generated when light is emitted to the color reference 20 member (126) from the light source (110). |
