<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-contact communication medium having both functions of a noncontact IC medium with a self display function and a reader of the noncontact communication medium. <P>SOLUTION: The noncontact communication medium includes: a display device; an arithmetic processing device connected to the display device; first noncontact communication means connected to the arithmetic processing device and capable of controlling a communication distance; second noncontact communication means disposed in such a manner as to be capable of performing noncontact communication with the first noncontact communication means; a first switch for connecting/disconnecting the communication function of the first noncontact communication means; and a second switch for connecting/disconnecting the communication function of the second noncontact communication means.
