<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous provision of driving support information in a driving support system providing the driving support information on traveling of an own vehicle relative to another vehicle based on positional information of vehicles by inter-vehicle communication. <P>SOLUTION: When a distance between an own vehicle and another vehicle is equal to or less than a predetermined distance, a driving support system performs transmission/reception of at least positional information between the own vehicle and the other vehicle, and provides driving support information on traveling of the own vehicle relative to the other vehicle based on the positional information. The system comprises: a driving support level determination unit 14 for gradually changing a level of provision of the driving support information according to a traveling area of the own vehicle; and an error occurring area storage units 16 and 92 for storing an area in which an error in the positional information becomes equal to or more than a predetermined degree in association with map information in advance.
