<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a technique related to a multifunctional catalyst evaluation device for how to perform primary screening for extracting samples worthy of long-term evaluation of several tens to several hundreds of hours and evaluation on midget plant increased in a catalyst filling amount to the order of several hundred grams or kilograms from among various catalyst prototypes. <P>SOLUTION: A distribution reaction system and a circulation reaction system are easily changed over to each other during reaction, and measurement different in reaction modes is repeatedly performed for the same catalyst.
