An electric power steering apparatus reflecting driving characteristics of driver is provided to improve steering stability by adding and subtracting the auxiliary steering power according to the steering characteristics of driver. An electric power steering apparatus comprises a torque sensor(121), a vehicle speed sensor(113), and a steering angle sensor(115). An electronic controller(123) receiving electric signals from each of the sensors includes a target current calculator part(201), a first subtractor part(301), a second subtractor part(303), a current controller part(205), a current detector part(207), and a driving characteristic auxiliary controller part(310). The driving characteristic auxiliary controller part(310) calculates the motor control current of the vehicle by determining the frequency or magnitude of driver's hurried accelerating or decelerating through the vehicle speed signal transmitted from the vehicle speed sensor and determining the frequency or magnitude of driver's hurried steering through the steering angle signal transmitted from the steering angle sensor.
