<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing polyvinylamine or polyamidine with little water-insoluble content. <P>SOLUTION: (1) Upon the production of polyvinylamine by polymerizing N-vinyl carboxylic acid amide and thereafter performing hydrolysis, the polymerization of the N-vinyl amide is performed in an aqueous solution with a monomer concentration of ≥20 wt.% in the presence of methanol of 10 ppm to 10 wt.%, or, (2) upon the production of polyamidine by copolymerizing N-vinyl carboxylic acid amide and acrylonitrile, thereafter performing hydrolysis and further performing heat treatment, the copolymerization of the N-vinyl amide and acrylonitrile is performed in an aqueous solution with a monomer concentration of ≥20 wt.% in the presence of methanol of 10 ppm to 10 wt.%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
