<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the weight of a hanging tool to reduce the energy consumption of a crane. <P>SOLUTION: The crane 10 is used for loading and unloading a container 3 between a container ship 1 and a quay wall 2 and has a head block 29 suspended by a wire rope 27 and a plurality of lower hanging tools 24, 25 different in size. The head block 29 and the lower hanging tools 24, 25 can be connected to/disconnected from each other mechanically by an attaching/detaching means 32.
