<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a large amount of oil mist from a blowby gas. <P>SOLUTION: A breather apparatus includes a rotation separator 41 fastened to a camshaft 25 and having a plurality of protruding plates 44 extending from a base plate section 43. A separator housing 51 provided in a cylinder head 18 includes an air intake port 56 on one end and an exhaust outlet 59 on the other end. Furthermore, a reed valve 63 that opens and closes by pressure change of a cam housing chamber 28 is provided in the air intake port 56. The blowby gas guided to the cam housing chamber 28 collides with the protruding plates 44 when passing in the radial direction of the rotation separator 41, and oil mist is captured by the protruding plates 44. Subsequently, the blowby gas is guided from the cam housing chamber 28 into the separator housing 51 via the reed valve 63. Since the flow rate of the blowby gas changes when passing through the reed valve 63, oil mist is effectively captured by the inner wall surface of the separator housing 51. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
