<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet accumulating and feeding mechanism 1 which accumulates and houses paper sheets such as bills on a stage 21 and accumulates or feeds the paper sheets by moving the stage 21 vertically, and which prevents paper sheets from entering a gap between the stage 21 and a gate guide 26. <P>SOLUTION: Stage ribs 27 and gate guide ribs 28 are respectively disposed on the stage 21 and the gate guide 26 so as to be engaged with each other.
