摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable stable following of a preceding vehicle by showing to a driver, a target steering angle of a steering wheel in order to follow the preceding vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A preceding vehicle following support device includes: a preceding vehicle detector 6 to detect a relative position of the preceding vehicle and own vehicle; a vehicle speed detector 7 to detect vehicle speed of own vehicle; a target steering angle calculator 9 to computes a radius gyration of a circle from relative position information detected by the preceding vehicle detector 6 assuming that the preceding vehicle and own vehicle are located on circumference of the same circle, and computes the target steering angle of the steering wheel 3 for following the preceding vehicle from the vehicle speed and the radius gyration detected by the vehicle speed detector 7 using a map set up beforehand; and a target steering angle display unit 10 to show the target steering angle computed by the target steering angle calculator 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
