ARRAY ANTENNA AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING BEAM WIDTH OF ARRAY ANTENNA

An array antenna and a method for controlling a beam width of the array antenna, are provided in the embodiment of the present invention, and belong to the communication field. The array antenna includes multiple array elements arranged in rows and columns with intervals; the array elements constitute multiple column units; each column unit includes multiple array element units; the multiple array element units are arranged in two neighboring columns of the array elements; the array element unit is a single array element or an array element group, which consists of at least two neighboring array elements in the same column; the neighboring array element units of each column unit are not overlapped in lateral direction at least partially. The method includes the step for selecting multiple array element units from neighboring columns of the array antenna, to form the column units. By selecting multiple array element units from neighboring columns of the array antenna to form the column units, the present invention changes the intervals in lateral direction and long direction between array element units, and thus controls the beam width.
