The brake pedal simulator (5) has a simulation unit (7) which has a spring element (11) and a supporting unit (13), at which the spring element is supported. The simulation unit is fixed in a blocking position by a blocking unit (16). The simulation unit is movable from the blocking position with inactive blocking unit, particularly with pressurization of the spring element by an actuating element (29). An independent claim is also included for a brake system with a brake pedal.
