<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize hardening failures of ink droplets after landing without changing the irradiation mode of activated light rays. <P>SOLUTION: The printing device includes: a lighting unit that irradiates ink droplets landed on a surface of a printing medium with activated light rays to harden the ink droplets; a transport unit that transports at least one of the printing medium and the lighting unit to thereby move the ink droplets on the surface of the printing medium to an irradiation range of the activated light rays irradiated by the lighting unit; and a plurality of nozzles that eject various kinds of ink droplets with different ink amounts, and are arranged so that distances of the nozzles from the lighting unit in a direction parallel to the transport direction of the transport unit are different from each other. In the nozzle that ejects the ink droplets in which a pre-irradiation time from landing on the printing medium to the movement to the irradiation range is a second pre-irradiation time longer than a first pre-irradiation time, the ejection probability of small ink droplets having the minimum ink quantity is set to be smaller than in the nozzle ejecting the ink droplet in which the pre-irradiation time is the first pre-irradiation time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
