PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noxious arthropod controlling method using a composition intended to control a wide variety of noxious arthropods for effectively performing controlling treatment without requiring heating, pressurization (gas or mechanical pressurization), or fumes for spraying the composition.

SOLUTION: Using an electrostatic spray device, the composition containing an ester compound represented by formula (1) is sprayed to noxious arthropods or to a place where the noxious arthropods inhabit.
