<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which can prevent a print dot from being blurred when printing is started or when an isolated print dot is formed on a print medium during printing, and can perform high-speed printing. <P>SOLUTION: During current print period of a print dot 102, a subpulse SUB1 is applied to a heating element which faces a non-printing dot 112 adjoining to a heating element that prints the print dot 102 in the main scanning direction. More specifically, as the subpulse SUB1, a basic pulse RP composing a main pulse MP is applied from timing T0 to T1, and a part of a chopping pulse CP composing the main pulse MP is applied from timing T1 to T2. Consequently, the non-printing dot 112 adjoining to the print dot 102 in the main scanning direction is not printed, and since energy of a heating element that prints the print dot 102 does not run out, the print dot 102 is not blurred. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
