<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective cover for an operating switch which facilitates the attachment of a lockout tag or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A protective cover 10 is formed into a box serving to enclose an operating switch 8 arranged on a mimic control panel 9 and having an open back. The protective cover 10 includes a pair of transparent side plates 11, 11 disposed on both sides of the operating switch 8, and a transparent front plate 12 covering the operating switch 8 in front. The front plate 12 has a pocket 1p behind for storing a plurality of tags 6 at least indicating that the operating switch 8 should not be operated. The pocket 1p comprises a bottom plate 13 mountable with the plurality of tags 6, and a back plate 14 opposed to the front plate 12 at a predetermined distance.
