The invention discloses communication power supply and a control method thereof. The method includes detecting AC input voltage of the communication power supply for a base station master device and a storage battery; according to the AC input voltage, adjusting power-supply current provided by the communication power supply for the storage battery to keep the AC input voltage of the communication power supply within the range of preset voltage. The embodiment of the invention can avoid the problem that the communication power supply is opened and closed frequently in the prior art.
